The COSO Enterprise Risk Management Framework was designed to address many new business challenges such as evolving markets, the rapid rate of change in the business world and the notable increase in regulation standards. In the third quarter of 2017 COSO released an updated version of ERM which works to address shortfalls that existed in the previous version.  This session presents an overview of the COSO ERM framework and then delves into areas that are affected by the 2017 update. Those that work with internal controls and specifically ERM should strongly consider this session


Learning Objectives:
Once participants have completed this session they should be able to:

  - List the purpose of COSO ERM. Both now and as it existed previously
  - Detail changes in ERM in the 2017 update
  - Define important concepts such as “Risk Governance” and “Organizational Behaviors”​
